BYBLOZ CREW
We hooked up with Azhar Wadee with his fine example of a 2002 e46 318ti in Hellrot Red colour. The car sits snuggly courtesy of a koni lowering kit, embracing the 18” BMW OEM Spoke72 Wheels.
He then spoke to us about a few of his buddies, and the crew that they are all a part of. All of these guys BMW-crazed fans too. We soon managed to round them up and shoot pics of their rides.
Azhar tells us a bit of their background with BMW cars:
“Our history with BMW goes back to 1996 when my first E30 325i was purchased. Since then, I have had the good fortune of owning a wide range of Beemers.
Amongst them a good few 325is, a super 333i, an E30 325i touring, E30 full convertibles and then E36 M3’s as well. We have owned every color 325iS except calypso and navy.”
Currently, the crew boasts the E36 M3 GTR which comes factory fitted with the 3.2l S50 motor, the 6 speed gearbox, Xenon headlamps & headlamp washers. The car rides on a coilover suspension setup with no room for wheel gap. This car is fully imported from the UK, bought from a very heart-sore returning citizen .It is a 1998 model coated in the gorgeous Atlantis Metallic colour.
Another special vehicle in the group is the Estoril Blue E46 M3 Convertible.
Unique to South Africa as they were not produced here in that colour.

Coming to family cars they have chosen wisely in the form of E90s, Naeem’s ride is the 325i touring which he acquired in 2010, while Shahed acquired his 320i in the same year and recently replaced it with the 330ci. Azhar also purchased his black 320d in 2010. In fact, these 3 okes bought their E90’s a week apart.
Azhar adds that driving such sought after cars always attracted handsome offers from enthusiastic purchasers, and unfortunately they did fall prey to losing some beauties.
Amongst those were 2 German Specs E36 M3s’ with some forty odd thousand kilometers on the clock, as well as a beautiful white pillarless E30. The one car he wishes he had never sold was a Cyrris blue 325iS. None of the cars were modified in any way except the altering of the mag wheels to enhance appearance.
Sadly, although there were many highlights, there were also some regrets along the way. Azhar’s one great regret is not owning more E28 M5’s, although managing to own a Henna Red example at one stage,….. and with the E28 M5s in this country being so scarce, we hold thumbs to him getting another
