E30 Club SA Hookup Cape Town, Greenpoint

This is the first of many events which we will be covering.

Events, ie Breakfast Runs, Park-Offs, Bikini Car-Wash; Track Days, Drags etc, happens all over South Africa, be it weekly, monthly, or annually.

We are really car-mad in this country.

The E30ClubSA, began as an online forum in 2005 and is currently still running. I joined the forum in 2006, and it was the beginning for me into the Car Club Culture. It brings together National and a few International E30 enthusiasts to share details, tips, experiences and also show off their rides to other members.

Their current registered member list stands at 4,790.

There are also, amongst other offerings, ForSale and Wanted sections for anything related to this specific model.

I am sure most of you might share my sentiment, and say that the E30 really kicked off the BMW craziness in this country, probably the biggest of the BMW brand. It’s simply a superb kit of wheels.

The Cape Town group decided to have a breakfast meeting at the popular rendezvous spot for various clubs around the Cape Region (McD’s at N1 City, Monte Vista). From there they would drive in convoy to Greenpoint, park-off at a designated spot, and then enjoy a lovely breakfast together at Kaprinos’ Restaurant.

About 15 members joined the meet and thoroughly enjoyed the early Sunday morning wake-up, drive, company, conversations, and most of all, their cars.

Now, we eagerly await the next ones.

“There should be more of these hook-ups more regularly”, commented forum member Nemesis.

Visit the Club on www.e30clubsa.co.za, register and enjoy the experience of one of the most fun loving beemers ever made. A legend!
