Magazine Launch KZN

After a successful launch of our SABeemer Magazine at the Auric Auto BMW Dealership in Cape Town, our next stop was on the green shores of Durban.

The Supertech BMW Dealership, with the enthusiastic leadership of their Digital Marketing and Customer Relations administrator, Theshan Govender,

gracefully accepted our request to have the KZN leg of the magazine launch on their premises.

We then arranged for a few pristine examples of desired Beemers for the state-of-the-art showroom floor at the Supertech Groups’ Durban branch

located on Edwin Swales Drive on the outskirts of the Durban CBD.

After our presentation, the guests were treated to some finger snacks courtesy of the Isetta cafe 

 

Supertech’s own Isetta motor car marks the entrance of the ‘Isetta’ cafe which operates daily as a restaurant on the premises. 

It was a fantastic evening with the invited guests enjoying themselves in a typical BMW-passionista’s way.

Yusuf Moolla, Customer Relations / Marketing manager for the Supertech Group, gave us a brief history of this impressive and this over-achieving organisation:

Under Chairman of the Supertech Group Shabir Tayob, Managing Director M Ubaid Tayob, Operations Director Farida Tayob and Financial Director Mahomed Sader, management and staff have taken on the Group’s mission of ensuring the ‘people first’ ethos is strictly adhered to and BMWs reputation for luxury is incorporated into every aspect of the customer experience.

Looking forward to continually winning hearts of customers at all Supertech dealerships, Mr Tayob is justifiably proud of what he and his staff have accomplished.

“It’s not only the building, cars and the showroom assets, it’s the people and staff who matter here,” he said while explaining why he feels the dealership is growing in leaps and bounds.

“We believe our employees are our greatest asset and our customers are people, not just numbers.  We believe every customer needs to be treated like Royalty, and our staff are essential in accomplishing this.”

From the Group’s humble beginning as a single branch situated in South Coast Road, Durban, to moving to its new state of the art dealership on Edwin Swales and then expanding to include dealerships in Pinetown and Newcastle in just over a year, the Supertech Group has set the bar high when it comes to service excellence and the all-important human touch, which is what drives this luxury vehicle brand’s wide appeal.

The award winning Supertech Durban dealership is an icon of Durban. Newly opened in January 2013, this state of the art dealership is situated on the corner of Solomon Mahlangu (Edwin Swales) Drive and Bellair Road.

With a keen eye on expansion, the Supertech Group acquired the Newcastle BMW dealership in April 2015, offering a world class service to the Newcastle and surrounding communities as well as being a strategic midway point for motorists travelling between Durban and Johannesburg.

Supertech Pinetown is the new addition to the Group, through its acquisition in March 2016.

Mr Tayob said it was important to keep the best individuals and ensure growth.

“I have managed to bring the best people in while keeping the familiar faces and people who have been part of this organisation for so long,”

He said that when Supertech took over the dealership, the majority of the previous staff remained and have become part of the Supertech family. There is an extremely experienced management team in place with decades of accumulative years under the belt, who can assess with every aspect of sales and aftersales. 

“In Pinetown, we have Dave Warren and Deanne Ballington who are BMW legends with over 50 years of accumulated experience.”

The Supertech Group is constructing a new, modern day-world class facility on Kirk Road, Pinetown setting the benchmark for future dealership design.

Mr Tayob said that Supertech dealerships are vastly different to other dealerships. Salesmen do not approach customers as they enter, they are instead greeted by warm hostesses and then the BMW Genius.

He said customers relax in executive lounges, sip on gourmet coffees and customise their own BMW on a big screen.

The emphasis on customer service is apparent each time a customer arrives at the dealership.

The state of the art Service Departments at the three dealerships can provide a service booking within 48 hours and also provides a 24 hour tow-in service for break-downs. Supertech also boasts top class Approved Repair Centre’s in Durban and Newcastle.

Speaking of his love for the brand, Mr Tayob said he always had a deep rooted passion for BMW.

“When the opportunity presented itself to actually own a BMW dealership, I jump at the chance to fulfil a lifelong dream.”

He said his first car was a BMW and since then, he was hooked on the brand.

“I love the intricate and perfect mixture of performance and luxury, which in my opinion, no other brand can match. I also have a particular love for M cars. A BMW makes you feel young, no matter what age you are.”

He added that his management team and staff are committed to the brand, and all share a passion for everything BMW. This passion is expressed on a daily basis, evident in the unwavering dedication to customers.

Speaking proudly of the Group’s accolades, Supertech Durban was recently Awarded the Daily News Readers Choice Awards as the number one dealership in KwaZulu-Natal for sales, and the second best dealership for pre-owned cars.

Supertech received several prestigious awards for 2015 in the annual BMW SA awards evening.

Awards included Supertech’s newly appointed Managing Director Ubaid Tayob as the number one sales manager in the country, as well as three of the top five salesmen in the country coming from Supertech Durban.

The dealership is well positioned to establish and reinforce the BMW brand in the league of luxury where it belongs.

At all three dealerships, the teams are constantly focusing on putting customers first with a luxury and memorable experience each and every visit.

Mr Tayob said the delivery of a new vehicle is a celebration at Supertech.

“People have spent a lot of money on a car they really desire, so when they come in to pick it up, we celebrate that occasion with them. It needs to be a moment for them to remember.”

Mr Tayob said they are working on rolling out a special concept of aftersales service that included Concierge Services as a pilot project for seven series customers. Previously such a service was only available abroad with luxury Italian Supercar brands like Ferrari. 

“We will be offering it first in this country, no one is doing anything like it in this segment.”.

“Imagine a special service which arranges everything from booking services to arranging special reserved parking and ensuring a personal greeting when coming in to the dealership. Other services include couriering tickets to launch events, as well as sending personalised gifts for anniversaries and birthdays, making a customer feel like royalty.  This is the service we are going to be giving as part of the Concierge offering.” With all these innovations and the benefit of teams made up of people who have decades of experience in all aspects of vehicle sales, finance and after sales service at each branch, the Supertech Group is clearly prioritising their customers in their future plans.
