Cedar Isle Auto BMW Track Day
Proudly supported by Bridgestone South Africa
Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit
Saturday 6 July 2013

The action at Kyalami this Saturday, 6 July is set to blow away any winter blues you thought you had. The BMW Car Club of Gauteng has been arranging track days at Kyalami for the last 20 years and are proud to bring another record-breaker to the Midrand based circuit with the kind sponsorship of Cedar Isle Auto and Bridgestone South Africa.
All the action kicks off at 08:00 AM and there is truly something for every fan of all things BMW. The popular time trial series goes on throughout the day, where any driver of any make and model is welcome to push their car and themselves to the limit in a safe and controlled environment. This does however require an MSA licence which can be obtained online from www.motorsport.co.za, and registration on the club website is mandatory. The cost to enter time trials is R850.
For the more serious folk, Kyalami is the setting for the fourth round of the BMW CCG Club Racing Series championship, arguably the most exciting grass roots Motorsport series in South Africa. So far, a grid of 35 cars has been confirmed and as we are hitting the halfway mark of the championship, the racing is getting serious so it should be epic to watch.
Bridgestone will once again be on hand to take passengers around the circuit on a hot lap in some of the latest BMW vehicles with a professional driver. The cost of this is just R50, you can register for these on the day.
The highlight of the day is most definitely BMW Car Club’s attempt at breaking the Guinness World Record for the Largest BMW Parade. This takes place between 12:00 and 13:00 and is open to any driver of any BMW vehicle. Pre-registration for the parade is mandatory in order for the numbers to be recognised. The cost is R20, registration and entry can be found on www.bmwcarclub.co.za

“At 13:00 PM on Saturday 6 July 2013, we plan to celebrate not just beating, but obliterating the Guinness World Record for the largest BMW parade” says Michael Broom, the event organiser. “South Africans have an insatiable passion for all things motoring, and the BMW enthusiast fraternity are among the most avid of these. It only makes sense that the record should be held by South Africans.”

Entrance to the circuit as a spectator is free. Food and beverages will be available for purchase in the pit area.
